The Wonder of Christmas

The Wonder of Christmas

December is officially here and I’ve been so busy lately that I’m trying to soak up as much of the wonder of Christmas as possible. I can’t believe the big day is only 3 weeks away! We celebrated the best news we’ve heard all year last week when at long last it was announced that the QLD border would be opening to Victoria. I truly believe it was a Christmas miracle and we are feeling beyond blessed and grateful to God that we are able to be home for the holidays. We cheekily booked flights the night before the announcement was made official and I’ve been running around like a lunatic ever since. We are flying home in just 3 days time and have been frantically trying to cram as much in as possible before we leave the Townsville heat for some unpredictable Victorian weather. I have never been more grateful for the possibility of 4 seasons in one day until now, I can’t believe it’s been nearly 12 months since we’ve been home.

As we get ready to head down south we have been spending our evenings by the Christmas tree while watching The Crown and The Great British Bake Off. I’ve been writing Christmas cards and trying to get as much Christmas shopping done online as I can, before I inevitably cave and brave the crowds in the shopping centres.

We are having friends over tonight for a little Christmas party and I can’t wait to enjoy a few holiday cocktails before heading home. At the moment I just can’t get enough of all the Christmas things. Our holiday decor, festive cheese platters and drinks, sparkly nails, Christmas pyjamas and the Christmas lights display in our suburb. I’m feeling so excited for what the next few weeks are going to bring.
