The Last Month of Summer

Despite living in a climate that comprises of only two seasons: wet and dry, I still insist on compartmentalising the year into the traditional four. It helps me feel somehow more connected to the place I grew up in, even if Victoria’s seasons are a little hit and miss. With a background in the fashion industry, it makes me reminiscent of all of those months spent preparing for the new season collections of the time. When I first got my hands on a copy of Vogue Australia I can still remember so clearly being fascinated with the runway fashion showcased inside of it. The date along the spine, the season it represented. So even though its still hot here and will be for the majority of the year, to me, February will always represent the last month of summer.
