The Best Time of the Year

The Best Time of the Year

2019 is mere weeks from being over but we’ve got a bit to get through before things start to slow down. Every December I feel the same, it’s the best time of the year. There’s just something a little magical about it. Here are some snaps from the past couple of weeks.

Christmas packaging definitely helps with making things feel extra special. We’re very far away from Mecca but luckily their online store is fantastic. Honestly, I know very little about make-up, but every time I shop there I feel like I leave with some better insight into how it all works. I’m definitely going to keep the box, it’s just too pretty to throw away.

In anticipation of the festive season, I really deliberated over what colour to get my nails done. Generally, I usually end up with a shade of pink. As you can see, this time was no different. I did, however, ask for some glitter. It’s quite subtle and as I learned, extremely hard to photograph but it’s there. Nothing says festive nails like a little glitter!

Jordan and I attended his end-of-year Army ~Ball~ about a week and a half ago. I use the term ball very lightly, as it was essentially a Christmas function. We had a three-course meal which was nice and it was good to catch up with both new friends and old. Naturally, we didn’t get any pictures together so luckily I took a selfie in the car on the way to the event. The next day Zarraffa’s seemed like an absolute necessity. So good.

The Best Time of the Year

We’ve been enjoying our evening strolls the last few weeks, especially as we won’t be strolling around in this particular suburb for much longer…The humidity is really starting to amplify in Townsville so I am super excited about heading back home to Victoria next week. Come at me, cooler temperatures.

Did I mention that Wallace is coming too!? We figured, why not bring our deerhound with us on the plane? Baby, the dog, let’s do Christmas right this year.

I loved flicking through these pages and reading the recipes out loud to Jordan. I don’t know why I feel I need an audience to do this, but I find it quite a relaxing experience. Will I try any of the recipes? My heart says yes but my head says no.

How’s your December been so far? Does it feel like the best time of the year for you too?
