Slowed Down

Slowed Down

Since Christmas and New Years, things have really slowed down for us. It’s insane how much socialising you can cram into just a few short days and yet, every year like clockwork, as soon January hits it just all seems to stop. As a homebody at heart, I have fully embraced the opportunity to relax and have been savouring lazy days spent at home with minimal plans.

Slowed Down

This candle that I got for Christmas smells divine. I find the writing on it very fitting as we are staying with family in Geelong for another week before heading back to Townsville. I feel torn between having a home in two places – I am missing my life in North Queensland, but I am also very aware of how hard it’ll be to leave my hometown again. Covid is always lingering in the back of my mind as well and not knowing for sure when we’ll be back is an annoying reality we’ve grown all too used to.

Late last year I decided to really knuckle down and sell a bunch of our unwanted things online – mainly my clothes, to be honest. I set myself a target goal of selling enough to buy myself a new iPhone and I’m very pleased to announce that I achieved my goal. The model I settled on was the iPhone Pro 12 Max and it has been a noticeable upgrade from my iPhone 7. I’ve spent a heap of time customising my home screen and am really happy with how it turned out.

I got my phone case from Casetify and was nearly as excited about it as I was the phone. The 2021 diary is from Typo.

I got some lovely Christmas presents, including this book and necklace.

Slowed Down

I’m excited to pamper myself with these bathroom products.

I hope your January has been off to a good start and that things have slowed down for you too. If not, I sincerely hope you have the opportunity to squeeze in a little quiet time before the buzz of the year truly gets underway!
