Before flying home for Christmas (which we are even more grateful for now given the current events in NSW) we thought it’d be nice to have a mini Christmas at home with just the 3 of us. Well 4, including Wallace!
Due to our early-December trip down south, we decided to decorate the house and tree in late November. This was a controversial decision but one I was very happy we made. I wanted to soak up being cuddled up on the couch in front of the tree for as long as possible.
We got this decoration as a gift last year, as well as the ‘E’ Christmas stocking and some other things. I think we’re probably going to have to get stockings for Jordan and I too, just having the one up looks a little sad to me.
My parents gave us this knitted Nativity Set, I believe they are handmade. The level of detail is amazing, they are such a standout piece.
For this year’s tree, I was really feeling traditional colours. In previous years I have gotten a little more experimental with colours schemes, but this time around it just felt right to go with something classic.
Training Evie to not grab everything off the tree has been a bit of a process, but I think she’s been pretty good overall for toddler standards!
Trying to get a picture with her has become a little more challenging however…
For Christmas lights this year I invested in some wifi lights from Big W. You can control them completely via an app on your phone and they also work with Google home. The ones I got are colour changing too, so you can alternate between warm white and coloured lights. This is a feature I cannot praise enough as I always find it so hard to decide what colours to put on the tree. Unfortunately the colour changing ones seem to be sold out now but these ones are similar. If you are in the market for some new lights, I highly recommend keeping an eye out for them next year!
This little nook of our house brought me so much joy and I must admit, I am missing it a little.
Have you done much Christmas decorating? Only 3 more sleeps to go!
