At long last, the birthday I thought would never end finally did. I’ve shown you photos from my 21st birthday party, but I thought I would do a recap of my 21st birthday in its entirety, as there were multiple events for the occasion! Will I ever get away with having multiple celebrations for a birthday again? Unfortunately, probably not. I hope you enjoy!
My birthday was on Sunday the 8th of July but celebrations officially started on the Friday night. My best friend Luke and I went out for a delicious Thai dinner to kick off my 21st birthday celebrations and out for cocktails afterwards!
We definitely took advantage of the BYO situation at the restaurant…
On the Saturday night I went out for dinner with my family at my favourite restaurant, Parkers Steakhouse. Unfortunately I didn’t get any snaps of my dinner but I did manage to get one of my dessert. Growing up we were rarely allowed to order dessert so this was a huge deal for me, their chocolate lava cake is to die for.
On my actual birthday I went out for breakfast at my favourite cafe, Winters Cafe. Are you sensing a theme here yet? I had my usual order of poached eggs on seeded sourdough with smashed avo, bacon and smoked salmon.
A few hours later I went out for afternoon tea with just my parents which was nice. We went to Barwon Edge Boathouse which I had actually never been to before. It’s a lovely place and I’ll definitely be back again.
On Monday I got to celebrate my 21st birthday with all of my work friends. As is tradition in my department at Cotton On head office, whenever we have a birthday in the team we celebrate with a cake of the persons choosing from Sweet Indulgence. I chose a mint/chocolate variety and it was soooo good. I even got to take home the leftovers!
For the weekend of my 21st birthday party, I took the Friday and the Monday off to make it feel extra special. Well that and so I’d have ample time to get everything ready for the party and some time to recover afterwards! On the Friday my best friend Katie and I ran some errands together and got our nails done, followed by a delicious lunch at 63 degrees.
Finally Saturday arrived, I was so excited! I spent the afternoon getting my hair and make-up done with Katie and we got ready at her house.
I love that my friends took photos of the night in addition to the professional photographer, there’s something about grainy facebook photos that just feel a little extra special to me.
Afterwards we hit the clubs and I was so exhausted by the end of the night and yet so happy and content.
My 21st Birthday has certainly been the best to date. A big a part of me wanted to upstage my 18th birthday party (which I was super excited about and was honestly a bit of a letdown) so I’m pleased to say my 21st birthday well and truly exceeded all of my expectations!
21, you are my favourite age yet.
