If you had asked me at 16 what my favourite movie was, my answer would’ve no doubt been Sofia Coppola’s Marie Antoinette. As per my recent 2007 throwback post, you may have noticed that the film got a mention. In 2007 I became obsessed with the beautiful costumes, cinematography and overall style of the movie. Although only an interpretation of Marie Antoinette’s tenure as Queen of France and certainly not based on historical facts, I simply adored it. The below images were take by Annie Leibovitz for the September issue of Vogue in 2006. I may not be 16 anymore but I am still struck by how beautiful this editorial is.
