Life in January has jumped from one extreme to the next. The first half we were still on holidays in Geelong and the second half we returned home to Townsville and normal life resumed. Here are some of my highlights from the last couple of weeks.
I’m sure a lot of you can relate to nearly having a heart attack after looking at your bank account post December, so we have really been trying to take things back to basics. I’ve been doing a lot of meal planning and making some updates to our budget. You know, just fun adult things. We’ve been going for walks pretty much every night and Townsville has really been turning on some beautiful sunsets for us which has been just lovely.
I’ve been slowing weaning myself off the copious amount of decadent food I consumed over Christmas and have really enjoyed being back in the kitchen again.
I love this beach view from one of our evening walks.
We celebrated Australia Day last Tuesday and I made a batch of lamingtons for the occasion.
Evie is becoming more independent and physically capable by the day. Her current favourite activity is walking Wallace.
Life in January has been pretty sweet. I’m looking forward to what February holds, especially as things start to get back into routine. You know how I love a good routine.
How was your January?
