Life In February

Life in February has been a little bit more low key than January, but nevertheless has been a good month, memorable for the simplest of reasons. Read on for some of my highlights from February.

Life In February

February started off with the resuming of my weekly group activities, which had stopped over the summer holidays. As a stay-at-home mum, activities are essential. For maintaining a sense of routine and protecting both your child’s sanity and your own. It felt good to be reunited with my friends here in Townsville at both playgroup and Bible study. I’ve already met some new faces and have set myself the goal of  putting myself “out there” a little more this year. As an introvert at heart, we’ll see how that goes…

Mid-way through February, Jordan and I celebrated Valentine’s Day. I made Rice Krispie treats for the occasion, they’re just so easy to make and taste delicious. I think we demolished them in about 2 days…

Life In February

As I spoke about last year, we don’t really go all out for Valentine’s Day. Cards, chocolates and a nice meal at home is pretty much our standard routine and it’s something I always look forward to.

I decided not to cook this year so we got a huge pizza to share instead. I truly believe that pizza is romance.

Life In February

After an inconsistent couple of weeks in regards to food and exercise – yes I was still recovering from Christmas halfway through February – I finally started getting back on track the day after Valentine’s Day. How convenient… As I mentioned in my previous post, the best time of day for me to run is at about 6am and I’ve been aiming to run 2-3 times a week. The way the ocean looks in the morning light has definitely been a motivator.

After-breakfast runs are also a pretty big motivator – I’m always ravenous after a morning trot. How great does it feel to eat food when you’re properly hungry!?

February also brought with it several days of non-stop rain, which is one of my favourite things about living in Townsville. Now there’s something I never thought I would say. Our house feels moody yet cozy when it rains and it is still such a novelty that the rain can carry on for so long here.

Life In February

Life in February has been somewhat inspired, although it could just be the endorphins from those morning runs talking…

How was your February?
