Life In April

Life In April

Life in April was full of tentatively circled dates on the calendar, some to look forward to and others to not…  In addition to this, I decided to extend my original 30 day detox from social media and made it through a second month without actively it. I also managed to go another month without writing a proper blog post about my reasoning behind this decision…but I’ll get to it, I promise! In the meantime, read on for my highlights from April.

Life In April

April began with the Easter long weekend and we had a lovely time catching up with friends and spending quality time together as a family.

My continued detox from social media meant that my camera roll in April was filled with a lot less selfies. This made the abundance of pictures of Evie look even more excessive than usual. Based on how she’s looking now, I think she had a pretty big growth spurt in April!

After Easter we were blessed with another visit from our friends Georgia and Sam who had dropped past in March on their way through North Queensland. They stayed a night on their way back down south and we had slow cooked beef tacos for the occasion. If you are a fan of Mexican food, I highly recommend this recipe., we practically inhaled this meal!

In the second last week of April, Jordan left us for a work course in Victoria. We had been anticipating the trip for awhile, but as the dates had changed a few times in the lead up, it was hard to completely mentally prepare for it until only a few days before. That being said, we made sure to spend our last couple of weekends together soaking up as much family time as possible.

Life In April

A few days after Jordan’s departure, my parents arrived for a visit. In contrast to 2020, the first 4 months of this year has already been so full of visitors. Here’s hoping we will be host to plenty more throughout the year!

Life In April

While life in April has had its emotional highs and lows, they are only but a speck in the grand scheme of things. Every time I’m feeling sorry my myself, posts like these remind me of how truly blessed I am.

How was your April?
