On Tuesday Katie, Annie and I ventured to Platform 9 3/4 at Kings Cross Station in London. After meeting up with another of Katie’s friends, Hannah, we waited in line for about 40 minutes to get our pictures taken. While in line we watched with horrified fascination as a large Italian woman and her son literally pushed their way past people to get ahead in the queue. The two of them were originally right behind us in the line, but by the time we got to the last row they were at least 15 people in front of us. Luckily, Annie alerted one of the attendants and as soon as we pointed them out we had everyone else in the queue backing us up. The woman and son were literally put back in their place, and we charged along victoriously with our fellow queue attendees. The ignorance of some people actually astounds me sometimes, learn some common decency, lady!
We didn’t purchase the professional photo they took but rather, chose to take our own. I would’ve loved to see how it turned out though!
Afterwards, we went to Hyde Park for a picnic to celebrate my 23rd birthday! We had champagne and other treats but most importantly, cake.
The candles wouldn’t light, so I had to fake it.
We made friends with a squirrel who wandered over once the cake came out.
Hannah had a special bond with him, she gave him a name but I don’t remember what it was.
The official card giving ceremony.
After Hannah left the three of us stayed in the park for a little while longer, people watching and taking in the scenery.
Top, cardigan, jeans, bag; Sportsgirl, shoes, Nike
After we said goodbye to Annie, Katie and I went to Oxford Circus and spent the rest of the afternoon shopping.
What a perfect way to end my birthday.
