On Saturday Katie and I headed out to explore Paris and did our own version of a walking tour. Our first stop was the Louvre, again, just to look. It’s such a magnificent part of Paris, I loved gazing up at the architecture of the museums that surround the square. There was honestly so much to take in when we were there, it really was breathtaking.
The Arc de Triomphe du Carrousel
From here we strolled through The Tuileries Garden, unfortunately, the flowers were not up to their usual springtime standard. Nonetheless, it was still beautiful to walk through and the autumn leaves made up for the state of the garden!
There were so many tourists and locals strolling through here and we sat down to do some people watching near lake Tuileries.
I was so happy when we found The Fontaines de la Concorde. I had been wanting to see them ever since I saw The Devil Wears Prada. The scene where Andy throws her phone into one of them has always stood out to me, they are absolutely beautiful.
We sat on this seat and watched a protest make its way up the street. I have no idea what they were marching for, but there were dozens and dozens of police cars on their trail!
After having a little rest, we ventured to the Eiffel tower and bought some baguettes (the best I ate on the trip), champagne and raspberries.
We sat on the cool grass, drinking champagne and talking shit for hours. It was one of the best parts of the whole trip and I wish I could be back there all the time.
There lots of small groups like us, doing the same. The concept of drinking in a public place still astounds me, but I like it.
This carousel was beautiful.
We got home at about 9pm, and were far too exhausted to head back out into the city for some drinks. So instead, we spent our evening on the couch watching Toy Story 3 and indulging in snacks and more champagne!
