After a mad rush to get to Charles de Gaulle airport in Paris, we made it just in time for my flight to the UK. Unfortunately, Katie and I weren’t able to book the same flight to London, so I ended up arriving about 2 hours before her. After several hours of public transport and an incident – which was scary at the time, but funny now – which involved us being stranded at a country train station (ie the centre of nowhere) in the middle of the night in the pouring rain, we finally made it to Katie’s new home in Marlborough. After a restful nights sleep, I awoke to the prettiest view out our window.
After a morning spent inside, we ventured out into the crisp English air and walked into town. It was so strange seeing tractors driving on the road with cars!
We had lunch at a little pub and had the biggest, most delicious plates full of burgers and chips. Of course, we couldn’t have this without a Bulmers cider!
Do you like our raincoats?
After spending a few hours in the town part of Marlborough, we came back home to get the neighbours dog, Ben. Isn’t he cute? This is the only photo I could get of him where he wasn’t blurry because he moved so fast! We took him for a walk in the forest near Katie’s house.
Afterwards, we headed back home for a quiet night in and started making plans for our first proper trip into London together the next day.
