Goodbye 2019

I’m currently stuck in the limbo between Christmas and New Years. Do I know what day it is? Not really. Perhaps after today, things will get back to normal. As per usual, I have left writing my end-of-year post to the last minute. In my defence though, the Christmas period has been particularly busy for us this year. We have spent basically every day for the past 2 weeks catching up with friends and family and it’s been just lovely.

As we get ready to say goodbye to 2019, I am reminded of everything this year has brought us. First and foremost, a huge interstate move from Victoria to Far North Queensland. It was definitely a bit of an adjustment for me, but I’m so glad that I’m starting to feel settled in Townsville now.

More importantly, 2019 was the year that Jordan and I became parents. Our beautiful baby girl Evelyn was born in May and life has been quite noticeably different since. It has been a pleasure to watch her grow and develop into a curious little girl and I can’t wait to see what else she does next. Every day it seems like she is changing, don’t grow too fast, young pup!

Finally, the end of 2019 saw us become first home buyers. Buying a house has always been a goal of ours, but it was certainly not one we expected to achieve any time soon. Definitely not in 2019. I am feeling so very blessed and full of love as this year draws to a close.

Not unlike other years, 2019 brought with it some challenging circumstances. The continuation of some recurring family issues led me to make one of the toughest decisions of my life. While I have had my doubts at times,  as 2019 comes to an end, I have been continually reminded that I made the right one.

Wishing you all a safe and happy New Year, I think Jordan and I will be keeping it pretty low key this year… I can’t wait to see what 2020 has in store for us. I also love that it’s the start of a new decade, New Years Eve feels extra special this year.

See you in 2020!
