We left Prague the next morning and made our way to Berlin. On the way there, we stopped in Dresden, which is a beautiful city in Germany. The architecture was absolutely incredible. Unfortunately I had a mental blank and ended up leaving my camera on the bus, so I had to take pictures with my Samsung instead!
We had lunch at a cafe and I opted for the bratwurst sausage with potato salad. YUM!
We spent a few hours in Dresden before heading into Berlin. First up we visited The Soviet War Memorial, which is located in Treptower Park. It was so lovely and green here.
This statue captivated me.
After the memorial, we headed to the Berlin Wall. It was unfortunate to see that a lot of the art had been graffitied over, but it was still pretty cool to see such unique pieces by local artists.
After checking out a few places in the city, we checked into our hostel and had dinner at their restaurant. This schnitzel was incredible, I inhaled it. It was definitely a good day for food.
I literally collapsed into bed after dinner, the exhaustion had definitely crept up on me and I could sense that the ‘Topdeck Tickle’ that had been going around was lurking somewhere in my chest.
The next day we went for a walking Tour around the city.
The Brandenburg Gate
The Holocaust Memorial
After a big morning, we finally caved in and had Maccas for lunch. It had to be done at least once on the trip, didn’t it!?
Electric cars are huge in Europe, which I still find really weird. The fact that you can charge it up on the street like an electronic device? Weird.
We spent the rest of the afternoon walking around and shopping. We needed to get white t-shirts for our Pub crawl later that night!
We had dinner at Hofbräuhaus and I re-discovered my fondness for beer.
Just your average portion size…
Pete and his meat!
Charming Berlin, charming.
After dinner we headed off on our Pub Crawl, a classy affair. Oh and just a side note, I’m bobbing in this picture – I’m not actually that short!!

Marshall (our tour leader) and I had an awesome night requesting songs from rude German DJ’s – Feel Good by Gorillaz, Take on Me by Aha and Wake Me Up (our tour song) by Avicii were our top picks. This was one of the most memorable nights of the trip!
