Hello lovelies! I’m home from Paris, and am officially suffering post-Europe depression. While I was over there, I got really into the Halloween theme, which was prevalent in clothes shop windows, bakeries and of course, Disneyland Paris!
The one I was definitely most impressed by though, was Topshop Oxford Circus. Not only were the windows completed decked out in their ‘Ghoul Girls’ theme, the store was also full of creepy (but well-dressed) mannequins, amazing Halloween themed product and holiday cupcakes at Lola’s. As a first timer in London, I have to say that my experience at Topshop’s flagship store was one of my most memorable.
Halloween in Australia is a ridiculous concept really; it’s not part of our heritage or culture and over here October is the second month of our Spring. For this reason, being in Europe over this time was really refreshing, I was actually able to experience a holiday I think is really cool, done in the right way. With autumn leaves falling as I walked down bustling streets, the carved pumpkins in windows only made it feel more appropriate.
Being home now, the cheap halloween display in my local supermarket irritates me more than usual, but I think a night in with friends watching horror movies and eating that ‘cheap’ Halloween candy from Safeway is definitely still on the cards.
