Always Thinking Pink

As mentioned on here several times, when it comes to purchases, I find myself always thinking pink. Sometimes I have to actively tell myself not to buy the pink version of whatever it is, because it’s not the most…grown up of colours. That being said, to this day I still regret not buying the baby pink version of a blanket instead of the mature turquoise edition I ended up with.

In summary, I’m no longer taking my own advice.

Melbourne Spring Cup Carnival 2014: Style Guide

October 20, 2014

With the Spring Cup Carnival now in full swing, it’s time to sort out your outfits! This year I am going to two events, my local cup in Geelong and Oaks Day in Melbourne. I have never been to a Melbourne racing event before, so I’m really excited to get all dressed up and hit the track! In celebration of racing season, I’ve put together a little style guide for three of the main events. Hopefully you can find some inspiration, as it can be a really difficult thing to shop for!

First up is The Melbourne Cup, which is all about bright colours, bold prints and statement making silhouettes. Experiment with fun accessories and don’t be afraid to try something a little out of your comfort zone! Check out these dresses at Beginning Boutique.

The Derby Day dress code may be traditional black and white, but that doesn’t mean your outfit has to fall short! White lace is a great option for this event as well as quirky prints and unique shapes. Go for something chic over classic, Dissh have a great selection.

Oaks Day – otherwise known as Ladies Day – is all about embracing your femininity. Midi dresses and skirts are a hot on trend MUST for keeping it classy, try a block colour or fun print. Florals are also great for keeping to the theme and anything that you can twirl in gets my tick of approval! Check out Showpony for more ideas.

90’s House Party

May 22, 2014

To celebrate my birthday this year I am planning a 90’s themed house party! The 90’s are my all time favourite decade, so it comes as no surprise that one of my good friends actually asked me when I mentioned my idea to him “Why haven’t you had one before?” GOOD QUESTION! I truly believe that nothing beats an old fashioned house party, so this year I plan on going all out. Below is my guide to throwing the perfect 90’s themed party. READ MORE

Good Friday

April 18, 2014

The past few weeks have been crazy busy, so I’m sincerely grateful that the Easter long weekend is upon us. Frankly, it couldn’t have come at a better time. With some Peter Alexander goodies and maybe just a few chocolate eggs, I’m happy to have a snug weekend spent with loved ones.

Gingham Style

March 17, 2014

As the colder weather begins to approach, I’m looking forward to layering up. Is there anything better about winter than layering?

At the moment I am absolutely loving the 90’s influence that continues to reign supreme in my favourite clothes stores. Gingham is a classic, the monochromatic black and white combination remains ever relevant. However, as a hardcore fangirl of the colour pink  (And no, I’m not ashamed) I will no doubt always have a soft spot for a more romantic hue.

I am also very fond of the daisy print. The more daisies, the better, I say!

What is your Gingham clothing piece of choice?
