At long last, my favourite season is finally here. It took it’s time kicking in though; I don’t think it truly arrived until April 2nd, when we turned the clocks back and received that blissful extra hour. Is there anything better than an extended lazy Sunday? I remember that day well, I wore my favourite jumper and went for a walk along the beach with Jordan and his dog. It was a crisp day, it was the best day.
I love it when the weather starts to get cold – as far back as I can remember, I always have. A big part of why I love it is related to clothing; the layers, thick coats and outfitting. Getting dressed is much more worthwhile when the weather is colder – there are so many more options. I find I get really lazy in summer, the hot weather makes me dress solely for comfort and not so much for style. Autumn makes me excited to bundle up.
It’s more than just clothes though; it’s the rainy nights all tucked in bed, train rides through the countryside, changing leaves, hiking, cold noses, Easter long weekends, drinking hot coffee in front of outdoor fires, pizza, dark crimson nails, church on a Sunday morning and homemade soup.
Autumn makes me feel all warm inside, contrary to what most people think of Spring; I think it feels like the start of something new.
